Are you interested in a career that will have you set for life as well as better off in society? A career is one of the most important aspects of a person’s life. Choosing a career is one of the most difficult decisions, especially for young people and people who are indecisive. You want to be able to choose a career that can fund your lifestyle and be overall beneficial. Joining the medical field provides you with good money, allows you to know more about your body, and positively impacts society.

One of the first things people look at when settling and choosing a lifelong career is the income they will make, which is understandable. You want to be able to have a career that will allow you to afford your basic needs along with extra wants. The Bureau of Labor statistics states that people in the medical field make a lot of money. This is proven when it states, “The median annual wage for healthcare practitioners and technical occupations (such as dental hygienists, physicians and surgeons, and registered nurses) was $83,090 in May 2024, which was higher than the median annual wage for all occupations of $49,500. Healthcare support occupations (such as home health and personal care aides, medical transcriptionists, and occupational therapy assistants.)” Having this income will allow you to be able to fund a steady lifestyle and get many extra things/wants as well!

Another benefit of joining the medical field is learning about your health or body. Every single career in the medical field requires certain knowledge, so basically joining the medical field forces you to gain knowledge on your body. This is proven by MCPH where it states “Earning a bachelor’s degree is a fundamental requirement for American medical colleges. While no specific “pre-med” major exists, most students choose fields like biology, chemistry, or neuroscience to align with medical school prerequisites. Regardless of your chosen major, completing the course requirements and maintaining a strong academic record is essential.” This shows that joining the medical field will help you learn more knowledge about not only your health but also others around you! Having knowledge about your own body is extremely beneficial and can help with things like sickness and random symptoms you might not have known about before.

Lastly, joining the medical field is extremely helpful for society. According to The National Foundation for Infectious Disease over 500 million people died due to smallpox. Joining the medical field could lessen and help prevent massive outbreaks or disease like this from happening with better research and more medical professionals.

Joining the medical field is extremely beneficial for yourself and others. The medical field has various careers, from nursing, to surgeons and more. Joining the medical field provides a good income, allows you to learn more about your body, and betters society. When joining the medical field you will be able to successfully provide for yourself, educate yourself, and help others.
